Denny Hamlin will continue to chase for a NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2025 after he was granted a Playoff Waiver by NASCAR on Friday. Hamlin will not compete in this weekend's Viva Mexico 250 following the birth of his third child on Wednesday.

Travis Carter, who won NASCAR Cup Series championships as the crew chief for Benny Parsons and Cale Yarborough and was a longtime team owner in the NASCAR Cup Series, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 75. Carter was beloved by many in the industry.

Chase Elliott will carry a special paint scheme designed by 11-year-old cancer survivor Rhealynn Mills in the upcoming Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway. The paint scheme is part of the Chase Elliott Foundation "DESI9N TO DRIVE" program.

Katherine Legge is set to make her second career NASCAR Cup Series start in Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez as she is one of the 37 entries on the preliminary entry list. Legge will drive for Live Fast Motorsports.

Bubba Wallace continued building upon the momentum of a sixth-place run at Nashville with a solid fourth-place result at Michigan International Speedway. Wallace heads into this week's race at Mexico City on a two-race stretch of great performances.
